New Flash Fiction in the Jellyfish Review

Two grimy apes sat at the edge of the cliff, throwing bananas into it. One ape was beautiful and the other ape was slightly less beautiful.

I was very surprised to have my flash short story “Ape 1 and Ape 2” accepted by the Jellyfish Review. They publish many short stories that I admire—very spiky and enjoyable—and also have a delightful Twitter presence.

But, I suppose that’s the fun of submitting. You never know when a story is going to be accepted. It’s like an artistically satisfying version of playing the lottery.
